The luxury travel destinations I thought were worth every penny
Luxury travel can be expensive, but not every trip feels worth the money.
Over the years, I have visited many places that gave me great value for what I spent. These destinations offered beautiful hotels, excellent service, stunning views, and experiences that I still remember today.
From peaceful countryside escapes and charming seaside towns to luxury resorts and exciting cities, these places truly exceeded my expectations.
If you are planning a special vacation and want to spend your travel budget wisely, these are the luxury destinations I would gladly recommend.
1. Carmel Valley, California
Carmel Valley had been on my travel list for a long time, and I was happy to finally visit. I took this trip with my sister, and it was a great place for a relaxing girls’ getaway. I also think it would be a wonderful destination for couples looking for a peaceful break.
During our visit, we stayed at both Carmel Valley Ranch and Bernardus. Carmel Valley Ranch has beautiful rolling hills, vineyards, swimming pools, and a modern lobby area. Bernardus felt quieter and more relaxing, making it a nice place to slow down and enjoy the surroundings.
One feature I really appreciated at Bernardus was the complimentary Mercedes-Benz vehicles available for guests. It made getting around the area simple and helped us save money by not needing a rental car.
Carmel Valley shows that a luxury vacation does not always have to mean spending a huge amount of money. With a little planning, you can enjoy beautiful accommodations, great experiences, and a memorable trip while keeping your budget under control.
2. The Cotswolds, England
I took a solo trip to the Cotswolds because I wanted a peaceful break in the countryside. It quickly became one of the most relaxing trips I have ever taken.
During my stay, I booked a shepherd’s hut at The Fish Hotel. The space was small but very comfortable. It had a cozy fireplace, a comfortable bed, and a private hot tub right outside.
The hotel was surrounded by beautiful countryside views, which made it feel calm and relaxing. It was the perfect place to slow down, enjoy some quiet time, and take a break from a busy schedule.
If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, the Cotswolds is a great choice. It is a wonderful place to relax, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of the English countryside.
3. Kennebunkport, Maine
Kennebunkport is a charming coastal town that feels friendly and welcoming. When I visited with my mom, it quickly became one of our favorite places.
We stayed at The Cottages at Cabot Cove in a cozy cottage that was both comfortable and relaxing. The property had a lot of character and made our trip even more enjoyable.
One of the things I loved most about Kennebunkport was its peaceful atmosphere. We spent our mornings enjoying coffee, visited local shops during the day, and took relaxing walks along the waterfront.
If you are looking for a quiet getaway with beautiful scenery, Kennebunkport is a great choice. It is the perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy a memorable trip.
4. London, England

London is one of my favorite cities to visit, although it can be an expensive destination. When I travel, I like to stay somewhere comfortable and in a convenient location, so finding the right hotel is always important.
I stayed at The Kensington on two separate trips and had a great experience both times. During my first visit, I shared a larger room with a friend. On my second trip, I chose a smaller suite, and it was just as comfortable and enjoyable.
One of the things I liked most about the hotel was its inviting atmosphere. The shared spaces featured cozy lounges, fireplaces, and bookshelves that made it easy to relax. I also enjoyed the traditional breakfast and afternoon tea offered at the hotel.
After a busy day exploring the city, the hotel bar was a nice place to unwind. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help.
If you are planning a trip to London and want a comfortable place to stay, The Kensington is a wonderful option. It offers a classic experience, excellent service, and a great location for exploring the city.
5. Maui, Hawaii
My stay at Four Seasons Wailea was one of the most memorable trips I have taken. From the moment I arrived, I noticed the excellent service and attention to detail.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Everything felt well organized, and the team worked hard to make guests feel comfortable throughout their stay.
One of the things I appreciated most was the complimentary cabana and convenient beach access. It made it easy to relax by the ocean and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The beachfront setting added a special touch to the experience, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a peaceful vacation.
If you are looking for a luxury beach getaway, Four Seasons Wailea is a wonderful choice. It offers great service, beautiful views, and a comfortable stay that is easy to enjoy from beginning to end.
6. Nantucket, Massachusetts
Nantucket is a place I love visiting again and again. It has a special coastal charm that makes every trip feel like a true getaway.
I often recommend Nantucket to travelers who enjoy beautiful scenery, local shops, and great places to eat. While accommodations can be more expensive during the summer months, I have had great experiences staying at both 21 Broad Hotel and 76 Main Ink Press Hotel.
Both hotels offer stylish design, comfortable rooms, and a friendly atmosphere. They are a great choice for a trip with friends, but they also work well for couples and solo travelers.
One of the biggest advantages of these hotels is their convenient location. Staying near the center of town makes it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and many popular attractions.
If you are looking for a relaxing coastal vacation, Nantucket is a wonderful destination. Its charming streets, scenic views, and welcoming atmosphere make it a place worth visiting.
7. Sonoma County, California
Farmhouse Inn is one of the most memorable hotels I have visited. From the moment I arrived, the property felt welcoming, comfortable, and relaxing. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Sonoma County is a wonderful destination for travelers who want to explore California’s wine country. It offers beautiful landscapes, great food, and unique local experiences. With careful planning, it can also provide good value compared to some other luxury destinations.
Another property I enjoyed in the area is Hotel Healdsburg. Located in the center of town, it offers easy access to restaurants, shops, vineyards, and tasting rooms. Its convenient location makes it simple to explore the area while enjoying a comfortable stay.
If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, Sonoma County is an excellent choice. It combines scenic views, welcoming accommodations, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the local culture and food.
